GymMasters, Inc., a tax-exempt, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, was founded in 1991 in order to assist parents of our gymnasts in paying for costs associated with competition participation. The money that GymMasters raises through donations, proceeds from the GymMasters Invitational and team member assessments are used to cover the following:
1) Expenses associated with competition for coach's participation (e.g., airfare or mileage to out-of-town meets, ground transportation, lodging, meal per diems, session fees, etc.)
2) Equipment purchases and upgrades.
3) Cost for coaches to attend safety clinics and educational seminars mandated by the federation.
GymMasters, Inc. exists to provide support for boys and young men dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in competitive gymnastics through:
Safety... quality training environs, including good equipment essential toproper training of athletes, prevention of injuries and long-term participation in the sport.
Coaching... high caliber coaches capable of guiding gymnasts to the highest competitive levels, who have evidenced a long-term commitment to the sport.
Competition... help to defray the high cost of participating in regional, national and international meets.
Scholarships... providing financial aid to young gymnasts striving for achievement at all levels, from college scholarships, to berths on the Olympic team.
Community Spirit... promoting Houston by increasing its national and international exposure through GymMasters athletes.
The ultimate goal is to build character and self-discipline through teamwork, which lays a foundation for future success.
